Satin Skirt (3D Garment #2)

 For my second 2D piece I decided to create a low waisted midi skirt. the fabric I used to make this was a light cream satin. Satin midi skirts are a popular clothing item that combines the elegance of satin fabric with the versatile length of a midi skirt. A midi skirt normally has a length that is between above the knee and below the ankle, giving the individual wearing it a chic and feminine look.Smooth, shiny fabrics like satin are frequently thought to be elegant and opulent. It looks glossy and has a gentle, flowing drape. 

This was the sketch that I created for my skirt. 

to begin I first out my fabric into a triangle and pinned it into place so it holds together while I cut. I measured my hip length then divided by two since I would be cutting out both sides and used that measurement for making the skirt. I then cut out my desired length and waist. 

I then hemmed all the edges and then added the zipper and waistband so the skirt can properly fit the body. 

This is the finished product of my 3d design. I am very pleased with the outcome something I would do different would be to just buy an invisible zipper instead of a normal one.
