Recreating an artwork
For my first art portfolio task, we needed to recreate an artwork with resources that we had in the studio.
The art work my partner Louai and I chose was "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog" by German artist Caspar David Friedrich, 1818.
To create the rocks that the man was standing on, we moved and stacked chairs together to create a structure. and then drapped a black fabric over it to make it look like a black form with texture.
Then Louai and I tried different positions and angles until we were happy with how it turned out.
Here is the final outcome compared to the original artwork.
Very resourceful with the materials available to you both, and the composition of your final photograph works well in mirroring the work: "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog" by German artist Caspar David Friedrich, 1818.
